La Crosse downs Chicago in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The La Crosse Freeze pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Chicago Junior Bulldogs on a clutch goal by Toms Taurins.

La Crosse overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Freeze was down 3-1 after a goal by Chicago's Scott Herbster at 15:40 in the second period. La Crosse tied things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Jared Bromberg at 29 seconds in the fourth period.

The Freeze's penalty kill excelled, as La Crosse gave up zero goals despite allowing 11 power plays.

The Freeze stifled the Junior Bulldogs' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. La Crosse forced Chicago goalie Sam Harden to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. The Freeze could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 32 minutes in penalties during the game.

Others who scored for La Crosse included Jake Lipski and Jace Cseter, who each put in one. More assists for La Crosse came via Augusts Veidenbaums, who had two and Hunter Dragosh, Austin Moser, and Ethan Stafford, who each chipped in one.

The Junior Bulldogs' offense rang up 37 shots on La Crosse's net. Chicago found itself short handed often, totaling 30 penalty minutes and allowing eight power plays.

Chicago also got a goal from Tyler Selteriech as well. In addition, Chicago received assists from Taylor Hamilton, Henry Hearon, Chris Fiordirosa, and Niko Moulakelis, who contributed one each.

Andrew Wagner made 35 saves for the Freeze on 37 shots. Harden recorded 33 saves for the Junior Bulldogs.
