Billings squeaks by Glacier, 5-3

The game between the Billings Bulls and Glacier was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Billings emerged with a 5-3 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Ian Wiljanen secured the win for the Bulls with a goal in the third period.

Billings was paced by Wiljanen, who tallied one goal and one assist. Wiljanen scored 15:27 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Billings. Alex Lundstrom assisted on the tally.

The Bulls put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Glacier to score on any of its five power plays. Billings' offense rang up 31 shots on Glacier's net.

Billings additionally got points from Trent Carter, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Lundstrom, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Billings included Ian Eshbaugh and TJ Theodosopoulos, who scored one goal each. More assists for Billings came via Tristan Henrichs, who had two and Ralfs Karelis, Steven Thompson, Reed Kaiser, and Bryce Jensen, who contributed one each.

The Bulls were unable to stop Glacier from sending pucks towards the net, and Glacier eventually piled up 38 shots on goal. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Glacier was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 28 penalty minutes.

Glacier was helped by Tommy Kaddatz, who racked up one goal. Kaddatz scored 5:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Glacier. Gavin Lubin picked up the assist. Glacier also had goals scored by Wyatt Fretheim and Brendan Jester, who each put in one. In addition, Glacier received assists from Dekker Gosnell and Tyler McMahon, who each chipped in one.

Cole Semchak made 35 saves for Billings on 38 shots. The Bulls incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Nolan Slager recorded 26 saves for Glacier.
