The Great Falls Americans jumped out to a four-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat the Yellowstone Quake, 12-1. Hunter Garris had a great game for Great Falls, netting four goals. Garris got on the scoresheet 3:06 into the first period. He then added goals at 9:18 into the first, at 1:22 into the third, and at 16:21 into the third. The Americans were led by goalie Evan Hauser, who finished with 38 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Hauser will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.17. Great Falls forced Quake's netminders to work all game long, taking 73 shots and forcing 61 saves. Lance Knudson made 17 stops and AJ Hill made 44. The Americans' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Yellowstone power plays. Great Falls outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Americans average 5.3 goals per contest. Great Falls got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed five goals during the game.
