Nashville rolls over Sugar Land, 7-1

The Sugar Land Imperials had trouble finding ways to stop the Nashville Jr. Predators, which beat Imperials, 7-1.

Nashville was sparked by Spencer Marchand, who had one goal. Marchand scored 11:21 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Nashville. Topi Samuli Aheristo picked up the assist.

The Jr. Predators excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Nashville's offense rang up 58 shots on Sugar Land's net. The defensemen of the Jr. Predators were also effective in the Imperials' zone, and came away with two goals.

Nashville also got points from Colton Anderson, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Nashville also had goals scored by Jacob Lainesse, who had two and Keegan Haines, Cole Helgemo, and Nathaniel Chiarizzio, who scored one goal each. In addition, Nashville received assists from Nickolas Tandeski, Kyle Van Wyk, Nicholas Redmon, and Alex Durand, who each chipped in one and Noah Keener, Trent Kulczyk, and Nick Mammel, who contributed two each.

Sugar Land was often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 23.0 minutes per game the Imperials had been spending in the box. Sugar Land's offense operated below its season average. The Imperials put an average of 3.1 pucks into the net per game. Sugar Land found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere 14 shots against Nashville's defense.

The Imperials were led by Mason Smith, who scored the team's only goal. Smith scored 12:23 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Nashville. Ryan Worley provided the assist.

Denijs Romanovskis recorded 13 saves for the Jr. Predators. Nashville incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Sugar Land's Timothy OSullivan stopped 51 shots out of the 58 that he faced.
