Alex Anderson gave the Wisconsin Whalers a 6-5 (OT) victory over the Chicago Junior Bulldogs when he scored 2:58 into the extra period.

Wisconsin overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Whalers was down 3-1 after a goal by Chicago's Michael Ellis at 9:14 in the second period. Wisconsin tied things up at 5-5 on a goal by Austin Lewis at 18:04 in the third period.

Anderson and Peter Henderson provided the spark for the Whalers, combining for two goals and four assists. Anderson had one goal and two assists and Henderson also notched one goal and two assists.

Wisconsin forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 14 minors and one major for 63 minutes in penalty time. The Whalers surpassed its season average of 17.0 penalty minutes per game. Wisconsin forced the Junior Bulldogs' netminders to work all game long, finishing with 42 shots and forcing 36 saves. Troy Pierce made 20 stops and Michael Paku made 16.

Chicago kept the Whalers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Moyse made 29 saves on 34 shots. The Junior Bulldogs could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game. Chicago was ineffective while on the power play, as it was held to two goals off of 11 man advantages.

Chicago additionally got points from Scott Coash Jr, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Chicago included Max Piper and Toms Taurins, who each put in one. More assists for Chicago came via Henry Hearon, who had two, Tyler Selteriech, who had three, and Matt Blaszkiewicz and Even Mitchell, who contributed one each.

Wisconsin registered three goals on 11 power play opportunities. The Whalers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Voster was ejected from the game.
