The Minnesota Flying Aces' Jake Mullendore scored 35 seconds into overtime to beat the Twin City Steel, 4-3 (OT). Minnesota's penalty kill excelled, as the Flying Aces gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. Minnesota forced Twin City goalie Alec Horwitz to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. The Flying Aces were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 24 penalty minutes. Victor Lombardi also scored for Minnesota. Other players who recorded assists for Minnesota were Lucas Mutschelknaus, who had one and Matt Olson, Bradee Thompson, and Jack Anderholm, who each chipped in two. The Steel kept Minnesota's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tanner Balk made 35 saves on 38 shots. Twin City was led by Jared Erickson, who had one goal and one assist. Erickson scored 5:19 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jordan Pitlick assisted on the tally. Twin City also had goals scored by Paul Stehr and Kyle Wagner, who scored one goal each. More assists for Twin City came via Mathias Ahman, James Hale, Mikko Aho, and Jay Paul, who contributed one each. The Flying Aces registered two goals on six power play opportunities. The Steel's Horwitz stopped 29 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Twin City ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major.
