In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Gillette Wild escaped with a 3-2 victory over Glacier.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Trent Dillinger's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Dillinger had a great game for Gillette, netting two goals.

The Wild's penalty kill excelled, as Gillette gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays.

The Wild forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up eight minors and one major for 41 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 24.0 minutes per game Gillette had been spending in the box. The Wild stifled Glacier's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Glacier was unable to stop Gillette from sending pucks towards the net, and the Wild eventually piled up 47 shots on goal.

Cade Boreing also scored for Gillette. Other players who recorded assists for Gillette were Trevor Ruiz and Brandon Beard, who contributed one each.

Glacier forced Gillette goalie Josh Beatty to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Glacier was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 26 penalty minutes.

Glacier was helped by Blake Evennou, who racked up one goal. Evennou scored 9:41 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Sam Shaheen provided the assist. Glacier also got points from Shaheen, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Glacier received assists from Wyatt Fretheim, Brendan Jester, and Logan Kraft, who each chipped in one.

Beatty rejected 38 shots on goal for the Wild. Gillette registered one goal on three power play opportunities. The Wild ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jack Cleaver was ejected from the game. Ryan Lund made 44 saves for Glacier on 47 shots. For Glacier, Kraft was ejected from the game.
