Peoria outlasts Chicago, 3-2

The game between the Peoria Mustangs and the Chicago Junior Bulldogs was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Peoria emerged with a 3-2 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Tyler Shures secured the win for the Mustangs with a goal in the third period.

Chicago's power play was ineffective against Peoria's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Mustangs were led by Shures, who grabbed one goal. Shures scored 16:11 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Peoria. Andrej Buchko assisted on the tally.

Team could not crack the Junior Bulldogs' penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having 12 opportunities to play with the man advantage. Peoria could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 46 minutes in penalties during the game.

Peoria also had goals scored by Marshall Gevers and Andrew Scofield, who each put in one. More assists for Peoria came via Chance Homerin, who had two and Jason Hoehn and Mark Candotti, who contributed one each.

Chicago could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 42 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Junior Bulldogs were helped by Dane Kalas, who had one goal. Kalas scored 1:37 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Chicago. Scott Coash Jr picked up the assist. Michael Ellis also scored for Chicago. In addition, Chicago received assists from Tyler Seltenriech, Michael Howard, and Henry Hearon, who each chipped in one.

The Mustangs' Ross Lipic stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Sam Harden made 24 saves for Chicago on 27 shots.
