Rounds leads Cleveland to shutout victory over Toledo

Alec Rounds made 48 saves to complete the shutout and led the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks to a 3-0 win against the Toledo Cherokee.

Tyler Dalton had one goal and two assists to lead Cleveland. Dalton scored 13:11 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cleveland. Adam Schaffer assisted on the tally.

The Jr. Lumberjacks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Toledo to score on any of its seven power plays.

John Barlow also scored for Cleveland. Other players who recorded assists for Cleveland were Avery Huibregtse, Craig Jarzen, and Patrick Briggs, who each chipped in one.

The Cherokee's offense operated below their season average. Toledo puts an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game. The Cherokee's offense rang up 48 shots on Cleveland's net. Toledo struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 24 penalty minutes for five opposing power plays.

The Jr. Lumberjacks incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Aaron Callan rejected 24 shots on goal for the Cherokee.
