Marshall Gevers was all over the ice for the Peoria Mustangs, as he tallied two goals and two assists in Peoria's 6-1 win over the La Crosse Freeze.

Gevers found the back of the net 16:52 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Peoria and again while 14:05 into the second to make the score 5-1 Peoria.

The Mustangs were led by goalie Ross Lipic, who finished with 40 saves while allowing one goal. Lipic certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.67 entering the contest.

Peoria's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Mustangs average 3.3 goals per contest. Peoria could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game.

Peoria also got points from Nathan Viberg, who also registered one goal and one assist. Andrew Scofield also scored for Peoria. In addition, Peoria received assists from Kai Barber, Chance Homerin, Thomas Kolaz, Austin Wisely, and Nathan Marlow, who each chipped in one.

La Crosse was often in penalty trouble, totaling nine minors and one major for 33 minutes in penalty time. The Freeze had been averaging 21.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Mustangs were unable to stop La Crosse from sending pucks towards the net, and the Freeze eventually piled up 41 shots on goal.

La Crosse was led by Hunter Dragosh, who scored the team's only goal. Dragosh scored on the power play 1:26 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Peoria. The Freeze had taken the advantage when Peoria's Homerin got sent off for checking from behind. Jared Bromberg picked up the assist.

The Mustangs registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Andrew Wagner took the loss and made 11 saves before being replaced by Cameron Scheuren who made 13 saves. La Crosse registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
