Baylis leads Carleton Place over Kemptville, 5-2North Grenville Municipal 1 Fri, Mar 06, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Carleton Place Canadians' Stephen Baylis had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 5-2 win over the Kemptville 73s. Baylis found the back of the net 12 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Carleton Place and again while 14:55 into the first to make the score 3-0 Carleton Place.Carleton Place pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes. The Canadians forced 73s' goaltenders to work in net, taking 37 shots and forcing 32 saves. Jacob Tugnutt made 12 stops and Nicholas Hodgins made 20. Carleton Place put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Kemptville to score on any of its seven power plays. Carleton Place also got points from Tyson Stewart, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Andy Sturtz, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Carleton Place also got a goal from Vinny Post as well. Other players who recorded assists for Carleton Place were Owen Stewart, who had two and Willie Brooks, Alex Robinson, and Ryker Killins, who each chipped in one. Kemptville also had goals scored by Aaron Hickie and Cameron Russell, who each put in one. In addition, Kemptville received assists from Erik Brown, Jake Gaudet, and Alex Row, who contributed one each. Adrian Clark made 23 saves for the Canadians on 25 shots. Carleton Place registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. The 73s incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
