The Ottawa Senators relied on the scoring touch of Bruno Cheff, who netted two goals, to beat the Nepean Raiders, 2-1. Cheff scored at 11:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ottawa and again while 19:54 into the third to make the score 2-1 Ottawa.Ottawa was led by goalie Ian Andriano, who finished with 28 saves while allowing one goal. Andriano certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.09 entering the contest. Nepean was unable to stop the Senators from sending pucks towards the net, and Ottawa eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Other players who recorded assists for Ottawa were Connor Bebb, Isaac Anderson, and Johnathan Kovacevic, who contributed one each. The Raiders' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Ottawa power plays. Nepean was led by Devin Fullum, who scored the team's only goal. Fullum scored 13:32 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Rory Garlasco provided the assist. The Senators incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Leif Hertz recorded 33 saves for the Raiders. Nepean incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. |
