Cornwall outlasts Hawkesbury, 4-2Robert Hartley Sports Complex1 Fri, Feb 27, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Cornwall Colts gutted out a close 4-2 win against the Hawkesbury Hawks. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Peter Angelopoulos at 15:39 of the second period. Cornwall got the win behind a great game by Angelopoulos, who had two goals and one assist. The Colts stifled Hawkesbury's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Cornwall also had goals scored by Jay DAmour and Cameron Roth, who scored one goal each. In addition, Cornwall received assists from Dean Derouchie and Lawson MacDougall, who contributed one each and Lawson MacDonald and Tristen Elie, who each chipped in two. The Hawks were helped by Jonathan Cyr, who registered one goal and one assist. Cyr scored 12:47 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Reid Murphy provided the assist. Hawkesbury additionally got points from Murphy, who also finished with one goal and one assist. More assists for Hawkesbury came via Jason Brochu and Jonathan Tecce, who contributed one each. Brett Nichol rejected 26 shots on goal for Cornwall. The Colts incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Gunner Rivers made 25 saves for Hawkesbury on 28 shots. The Hawks incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
