Kemptville survives Ottawa comeback, wins 4-2

The Kemptville 73s, who led by five goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by the Ottawa Senators and clinched a 4-2 victory.

Kemptville led by five goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the 73s' Tyson Kirkby scored at 19:36 in the second period to put Kemptville up 5-0.

The 73s were paced by Erik Brown, who had one goal and one assist. Brown scored on the power play 11:41 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kemptville. Kemptville had gotten the advantage when Ottawa's Thomas Crevier was sent off for interference. Alex Row picked up the assist.

The 73s stifled the Senators' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Kemptville additionally got points from Kirkby, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Justin Haasbeek, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Kemptville included Owen Guy and Jake Gaudet, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Kemptville were Dean Galasso, who had two and Matt Tugnutt and Shawn Cameron, who each chipped in one.

Ottawa kept Kemptville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jacob Tugnutt made 37 saves on 39 shots.

The 73s incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. For Kemptville, Tugnutt was ejected from the game. Alexandre Savard-Belanger took the loss and made six saves before being replaced by Ian Andriano who made 17 saves. The Senators incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
