Nepean boosted by Marotte's play in net, beats Smiths Falls 4-1

Francis Marotte had a standout game with 25 saves, and the Nepean Raiders beat the Smiths Falls Bears 4-1.

Nepean was led by Jack Kilrea, who had one goal. Kilrea scored 50 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 Nepean. Rory Garlasco picked up the assist.

Nepean also got points from Luke McCaw, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Nepean included William White and Nicolas Vlahos, who each put in one. In addition, Nepean received assists from Corey Tam, who had two and Chad Malinowski, Josh Zizek, Devin Fullum, and Mac MacSorley, who each chipped in one.

Smiths Falls was led by Cole Busschaert, who scored the team's only goal. Busschaert scored on the power play 18:12 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Bears had taken the advantage when the Raiders' Benoit Villeneuve got sent off for tripping. Jared Henry assisted on the tally.

Nepean incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Michael Pinios rejected 22 shots on goal for Smiths Falls. The Bears incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
