Pinios stymies Hawkesbury, Smiths Falls wins 3-1

Michael Pinios had a standout game with 29 saves, and the Smiths Falls Bears beat the Hawkesbury Hawks 3-1.

Smiths Falls was led by Brett Garvey, who had one goal. Garvey scored 3:36 into the third period to make the score 2-0 Smiths Falls. Chris King picked up the assist.

Smiths Falls additionally got points from King, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Smiths Falls also got a goal from Michael McKenney as well. Other players who recorded assists for Smiths Falls were Taylor Henry, who had one.

Hawkesbury stifled the Bears' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Hawks' offense operated below their season average. Hawkesbury averages 3.4 goals per game.

The Hawks were led by Phil Johansson, who scored the team's only goal. Johansson scored on the power play 7:43 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Smiths Falls.
