The Carleton Place Canadians, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by the Kemptville 73s and clinched a 3-2 victory. Carleton Place led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Canadians' Andrew Dodson scored short handed at 11:37 in the first period to put Carleton Place up 3-0. Kemptville's power play was ineffective against the Canadians' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Carleton Place was led by Stephen Baylis, who registered one goal. Baylis scored 13:43 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Carleton Place. Vinny Post assisted on the tally. The Canadians stifled the 73s' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Carleton Place kept Kemptville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Nicholas Hodgins made 29 saves on 32 shots. Others who scored for Carleton Place included Wesley Baker and Andy Sturtz, who scored one goal each. More assists for Carleton Place came via Tyson Stewart, Adam Lloyd, Jordan Larson, and Craig Pefley, who contributed one each. The 73s were helped by Erik Brown, who finished with one goal. In addition, Kemptville received assists from Brandon Cole, Jake Gaudet, and Matt Tugnutt, who each chipped in one. Adrian Clark rejected 17 shots on goal for the Canadians. Carleton Place incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Kemptville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
