Brockville stifles Carleton Place's comeback, gains 4-2 victory

The Carleton Place Canadians almost clawed their way back from a three-goal deficit, but the Brockville Braves managed to pull out a 4-2 win in the end.

Brockville led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Braves' Liam Folkes scored on the power play at 14:56 in the second period to put Brockville up 4-1.

Folkes had two goals and one assist to lead the Braves. Folkes scored the first of his two goals at 9:37 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Brockville. Sean King provided the assist. Folkes' next tally made the score 4-1 Brockville with 5:04 left in the second period. King picked up the assist.

Brockville's penalty kill excelled, as the Braves gave up one goal despite allowing eight power plays.

Others who scored for Brockville included Eric Israel and Dylan McCrory, who scored one goal each. More assists for Brockville came via Andrew Peski, who had three and Neil Robinson and Tre Folkes, who each chipped in one.

Brockville was unable to stop Carleton Place from sending pucks towards the net, and the Canadians eventually piled up 49 shots on goal.

Carleton Place was helped by Ryan Daniel, who grabbed one goal. Daniel scored 8:46 into the first period to make the score 1-1. AJ Klein assisted on the tally. Carleton Place also got a goal from Wesley Baker as well. Other players who recorded assists for Carleton Place were Vinny Post and Owen Stewart, who contributed one each.

Bo Taylor made 47 saves for the Braves on 49 shots. Brockville incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. The Canadians' Guillaume Therien stopped 26 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Carleton Place incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
