Hawkesbury downs Kemptville, 6-3

The Hawkesbury Hawks took home the win against the Kemptville 73s, 6-3.

Hawkesbury kept Kemptville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jacob Tugnutt made 33 saves on 39 shots. The Hawks' goal total was higher than their season average. This season, Hawkesbury averages 3.5 goals per contest. Team could not crack the 73s' penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having nine opportunities to play with the man advantage.

The Hawks were led by Hunter Racine, who tallied one goal and two assists. Racine scored 13:16 into the third period to make the score 5-1 Hawkesbury. Ross Mandigo picked up the assist. Hawkesbury also got points from Jason Brochu, who also had one goal and one assist and Mandigo, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Hawkesbury included Pierre Ouellette, Brandon Barillaro, and Liam Alcalde, who scored one goal each. In addition, Hawkesbury received assists from Reid Murphy, who had two and Paul Vella, Bradley Gabbour, Jonathan Cyr, and Alex Anderson, who contributed one each.

Hawkesbury was unable to stop Kemptville from sending pucks towards the net, and the 73s eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Kemptville was led by Owen Guy, who grabbed one goal. Guy scored 19:21 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Hawkesbury. Cameron Russell provided the assist. Kemptville also had goals scored by Tyson Kirkby and Erik Brown, who each put in one. More assists for Kemptville came via Braeden Pearl, Cody Hendsbee, Brandon Cole, and Jake Gaudet, who each chipped in one.

Gunner Rivers rejected 29 shots on goal for the Hawks. Hawkesbury incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The 73s incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
