Folkes lifts Brockville over Smiths Falls, 3-0

Liam Folkes was all over the ice for the Brockville Braves, as he tallied two goals in Brockville's 3-0 win over the Smiths Falls Bears.

Folkes scored at 5:59 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brockville and again while 13:06 into the second to make the score 3-0 Brockville.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 7:28 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

The Braves' offense rang up 37 shots on Smiths Falls' net.

Michael Murray also scored for Brockville. In addition, Brockville received assists from Eric Faith, Eric Israel, Francesco Tolfa, and Tristan Whynot, who contributed one each.

The Bears excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Smiths Falls could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Bears average 2.9 goals per game.

Brockville's Bo Taylor stopped 24 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Braves ended with nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. Brockville ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and DAndre John was ejected from the game. Michael Pinios rejected 34 shots on goal for Smiths Falls. The Bears totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play. For Smiths Falls, Noah Gurr was ejected from the game.
