Gloucester completes comeback, beats Kemptville, 6-4

The Gloucester Rangers climbed out of a three-goal hole to beat the Kemptville 73s, 6-4.

Gloucester never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Rangers trailed 3-0 after a goal by Kemptville's Brandon Lesway at 9:47 in the second period. Gloucester knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Ryan Kuffner at 10:57 in the third period. The Rangers netted the game winner at 17:31 in the third period on a goal by Kuffner.

Joey Fallon was all over the ice for Gloucester, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Fallon scored the first of his two goals at 13:48 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Kemptville. Liam Biard assisted on the tally. Fallon's next tally made the score 6-4 Gloucester with 57 seconds left in the third period. Antonio Micucci picked up the assist.

The Rangers kept the 73s' goalie busy throughout the game, and Nicholas Hodgins made 33 saves on 39 shots. Gloucester's goal total was higher than its season average. The Rangers average 3.2 goals per game.

Gloucester also got points from Matt Foget, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Jared Leslie, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Matt Adams also scored for Gloucester. Other players who recorded assists for Gloucester were Bobby Williams, who had two and Zachary Borsoi, Max Veronneau, and Nicholas Ngwafusi, who each chipped in one.

Kemptville stifled Gloucester's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

The 73s were helped by Tyler Young, who registered one goal. Young scored 2:40 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kemptville. Jason Tackett assisted on the tally. Kemptville also got a goal from Matt Tugnutt as well. In addition, Kemptville received assists from Erik Brown, who had two and Tyson Kirkby, Shane Riddell, Cody Hendsbee, Jake Gaudet, and Daniel Monk, who contributed one each.

Doug Johnston made 22 saves for the Rangers on 26 shots. Gloucester totaled seven minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 0-for-5 on the power play. For the Rangers, Williams was ejected from the game. Kemptville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
