Ottawa rolls over Pembroke, 6-2

The Ottawa Senators were firing on all cylinders against the Pembroke Lumber Kings, and when the final buzzer sounded Senators emerged with a 6-2 win.

Joey Champigny was all over the ice for Ottawa, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Champigny scored the first of his two goals at 19:51 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Ottawa. Bruno Cheff picked up the assist. Champigny's next tally made the score 6-2 Ottawa with 7:01 left in the third period. Jim Pearson provided the assist.

Pembroke's power play was ineffective against the Senators' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Ottawa forced the Lumber Kings' goalies to work all game long, taking 34 shots and forcing 28 saves. Sean Green made 11 stops and Gabe Mollot-Hill made 17. The Senators' goal total was higher than their season average. Ottawa averages 3.9 goals per game.

Ottawa also got points from Shawn Lynch, who also registered one goal and one assist and Pearson, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Ottawa also had goals scored by Thomas Crevier and Brandon Watt, who each put in one. In addition, Ottawa received assists from Robert Michel, who had two and Isaac Anderson, Carl Faucher, and Zach Car, who each chipped in one.

The Senators were unable to stop Pembroke from sending pucks towards the net, and the Lumber Kings eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

Pembroke was led by Felix Chamberland, who tallied one goal and one assist. Chamberland scored 7:22 into the third period to make the score 5-2 Ottawa. Justin Felhaber picked up the assist. Hudson Michaelis also scored for Pembroke. More assists for Pembroke came via Dylan Chase and Anthony Nellis, who contributed one each.

Alexandre Savard-Belanger recorded 34 saves for Ottawa. The Senators incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Lumber Kings incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
