Nepean pulls away in second, rolls over Kanata, 7-2

The Nepean Raiders scored four goals in the second period to pull away from the Kanata Stallions and clinch a 7-2 win.

Felix Page was all over the ice for Nepean, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Page scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 12:45 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Nepean. A high sticking penalty on Cameron Radziwon had put the Raiders on the power play. William White picked up the assist. Page's next tally on the power play made the score 4-2 Nepean with 2:08 left in the second period. Nepean had gotten the advantage when Kanata's Arik Breton was sent off for head contact. Josh Zizek assisted on the tally.

The Stallions fell victim to a deadly the Raiders power play, which ripped Kanata for four goals.

The Stallions were unable to stop Nepean from sending pucks towards the net, and the Raiders eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. Nepean outdid its season average for goals scored. The Raiders average 2.9 goals per game. Nepean's penalty kill was ineffective, and let in two goals to Kanata's power play unit.

Nepean additionally got points from Zizek, who also racked up one goal and two assists and Mac MacSorley, who also had one goal and one assist. Nepean also got a goal from Nicolas Vlahos as well. More assists for Nepean came via Cody Calcagno, who had two and Corey Tam, Devin Fullum, Adel Zivojevic, Jack Kilrea, and Brandon Belding, who contributed one each.

The Stallions were helped by Louis-Charles Croteau, who registered one goal. Croteau scored on the power play 1:44 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Kanata earned a power play opportunity when Page was put in the box for slashing. Tyler ONeill picked up the assist. Jean-Philippe Langlois also scored for Kanata. In addition, Kanata received assists from Taylor Egan, Bryce Biller, and Hugo Petit, who each chipped in one.

The Raiders' Francis Marotte stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Nepean incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Andrew Cipollone recorded 25 saves for the Stallions. Kanata ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. For the Stallions, Breton was ejected from the game.
