Vlahos lifts Nepean over Gloucester, 5-2Nepean Sportsplex Rink 1 Sun, Jan 25, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Nepean Raiders relied on the scoring touch of Nicolas Vlahos, who netted two goals, to beat the Gloucester Rangers, 5-2. Vlahos' tallies came at 2:40 into the third period to make the score 2-2 and 9:21 into the third to make the score 3-2 Nepean.Nepean's offense rang up 32 shots on Gloucester's net. The Raiders surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Nepean averages 2.9 goals per contest. Nepean additionally got points from William White, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Jack Kilrea, who also had one goal and one assist. Benoit Villeneuve also scored for Nepean. More assists for Nepean came via Brandon Belding, who had two and Chad Malinowski, Josh Zizek, Devin Fullum, Dakota Ford, Mac MacSorley, and John Gilmer, who contributed one each. The Raiders were unable to stop the Rangers from sending pucks towards the net, and Gloucester eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. The Rangers were helped by Joey Fallon, who registered one goal. Fallon scored 1:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Gloucester. Liam Biard picked up the assist. Gloucester also got a goal from Matt Foget as well. In addition, Gloucester received assists from Zachary Borsoi, Connor Eckenrod, and Max Veronneau, who each chipped in one. Gilmer rejected 29 shots on goal for Nepean. The Raiders incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Gloucester's Doug Johnston stopped 27 shots out of the 32 that he faced. The Rangers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
