Carleton Place downs Pembroke in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Carleton Place Canadians' Andy Sturtz scored 5:16 into overtime to beat the Pembroke Lumber Kings, 3-2 (OT).

Sturtz had a great game for Carleton Place, netting two goals.

The Canadians' offense rang up 38 shots on Pembroke's net.

Carleton Place also got points from Jordan Larson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Carleton Place received assists from Devin Campbell and Connor Merkley, who each chipped in one.

The Lumber Kings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Carleton Place power plays. Pembroke could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Lumber Kings put an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game.

Pembroke was helped by Ryan Casselman, who registered one goal. Casselman scored 13:38 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Brendan Valko assisted on the tally. Pembroke also got a goal from Hudson Michaelis as well. Other players who recorded assists for Pembroke were Adam Dauda and Stephen Cooney, who contributed one each.

Guillaume Therien made 27 saves for Carleton Place on 29 shots. The Canadians incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Jordan Piccolino recorded 35 saves for the Lumber Kings. Pembroke totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. For the Lumber Kings, Stephan Beauvais was ejected from the game.
