Quince's goals lift Cornwall to 3-1 victory over Kanata

The Cornwall Colts relied on the scoring touch of Marly Quince, who netted two goals, to beat the Kanata Stallions, 3-1.

Quince found the back of the net on the power play 15:11 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Cornwall and again while short handed 18:47 into the second to make the score 3-1 Cornwall.

Cornwall managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Colts finished below its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. Cornwall was effective with a man advantage, and put in two goals while on the power play.

Cornwall additionally got points from Peter Angelopoulos, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Cornwall received assists from Kevin Hope, who had one and Zac Tierney, who had two.

Kanata was led by Arik Breton, who scored the team's only goal. Breton scored 18 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Cameron Radziwon picked up the assist.

Denny Dubblestyne made 23 saves for the Colts on 24 shots. The Stallions' Brian Wilson stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Kanata incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
