Jordan Piccolino was superb between the pipes for the Pembroke Lumber Kings, as he did not allow a goal in a 2-0 victory over the Smiths Falls Bears. Pembroke's penalty kill excelled, as the Lumber Kings gave up zero goals despite allowing nine power plays. Pembroke was sparked by Felix Chamberland, who racked up one goal. Chamberland scored on the power play 9:13 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Pembroke. A high sticking penalty on Olivier Chabot had put the Lumber Kings on the power play. Alexandre Boivin provided the assist. Pembroke stifled Smiths Falls' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Lumber Kings' defensive effort looked to be improved. Pembroke averages 2.8 goals allowed per game. The Lumber Kings were often in penalty trouble, as it ended with 10 minors and one major for 25 minutes in penalty time. Pembroke also got a goal from Anthony Nellis as well. More assists for Pembroke came via Adam Dauda, who had one. The Bears were held below their usual level of production. Smiths Falls averages 3.1 goals per game. The Bears kept Pembroke's goalie busy throughout the game, and Piccolino made 31 saves on 31 shots. The Lumber Kings registered one goal on four power play opportunities. For Pembroke, Hudson Michaelis was ejected from the game. Michael Pinios made 22 saves for Smiths Falls on 23 shots. The Bears ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. Smiths Falls ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Daniel Lombardi was ejected from the game.
