Pembroke downs Carleton Place in overtime, 6-5 (OT)

The Pembroke Lumber Kings' Adam Dauda scored 1:08 into overtime to beat the Carleton Place Canadians, 6-5 (OT).

Alexandre Boivin was all over the ice for Pembroke, as he tallied two goals and three assists in the win. Boivin scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 15:41 into the first period to make the score 4-2 Pembroke. The Lumber Kings had gotten the advantage when Carleton Place's Bryce VanHorn was sent off for hooking. Dauda provided the assist. Boivin's next tally on the power play made the score 5-5 with 5:56 left in the third period. Felix Chamberland assisted on the tally.

The Canadians' power play was ineffective against Pembroke's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Lumber Kings kept Carleton Place's goalie busy throughout the game, and Guillaume Therien made 31 saves on 37 shots. Pembroke could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 20 minutes in penalties during the game.

Pembroke additionally got points from Colton Keuhl, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Jesse Blais, who also registered one goal and one assist, Dauda, who also had one goal and one assist, and Anthony Nellis, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Other players who recorded assists for Pembroke were Hudson Michaelis and Stephen Cooney, who each chipped in one.

The Canadians' defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. Carleton Place gives up 2.1 goals per game. The Canadians could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game.

Carleton Place was led by Wesley Baker, who tallied two goals. Baker scored the first of his two goals at 11:34 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Pembroke. Adam Lloyd provided the assist. Baker's next tally made the score 5-4 Carleton Place with 18:47 left in the third period. Lloyd picked up the assist. Others who scored for Carleton Place included Andrew Dodson, Stephen Baylis, and Nicolas Mucci, who each put in one. In addition, Carleton Place received assists from Craig Pefley, who had two and Devin Campbell, Andy Sturtz, and Connor Merkley, who contributed one each.

Jordan Piccolino recorded 21 saves for the Lumber Kings. Pembroke registered two goals on seven power play opportunities.
