Brockville rolls over Cornwall, 6-1

The Brockville Braves had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over the Cornwall Colts.

Neil Robinson was all over the ice for Brockville, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Robinson scored the first of his two goals at 19:19 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Brockville. Liam Folkes provided the assist. Robinson's next tally made the score 5-1 Brockville with 11:57 left in the second period. Folkes assisted on the tally.

Cornwall was stymied by the Braves' netminder Mitchell Datz, who stopped 27 shots during the victory. Datz managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.4 prior to the game.

Brockville forced Colts' goalies to work without much rest, getting 32 shots and forcing 26 saves. Denny Dubblestyne made 18 stops and Brett Nichol made eight. The Braves' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Cornwall power plays. Brockville surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Braves average 3.6 goals per contest.

Brockville also got points from Dylan McCrory, who also racked up two goals and one assist. Brockville also had goals scored by Eric Israel and Jack Billings, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Brockville were Sean King, Francesco Tolfa, and DAndre John, who contributed one each.

The Colts excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Cornwall's offense operated below its season average. The Colts put an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game.

Cornwall was led by Lawson MacDougall, who scored the team's only goal. MacDougall scored 3:47 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cornwall. Jay DAmour provided the assist.

Brockville ended with 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors. Team's Blake Carrick and Tolfa were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. The Colts ended with 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors. For Cornwall, Juan-Diego Hernandez, Peter Angelopoulos, and Ryan Patulli were ejected from the contest.
