Hawkesbury survives Brockville comeback, wins 6-4

The Brockville Braves tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Hawkesbury Hawks would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 6-4.

Hawkesbury made the score 6-3 on a goal by Pierre Ouellette at 12:33 in the third period, and Brockville got as close as 6-4 when Neil Robinson scored 15:26 into the third period.

Jonathan Tecce had a great game for the Hawks, netting two goals. Tecce's tallies came at 6:00 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Hawkesbury and 5:31 into the third to make the score 4-3 Hawkesbury.

Hawkesbury surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Hawks average 3.2 goals per game. Hawkesbury's penalty kill unit could not stop the Braves' power play, which converted on two of three opportunities. The Hawks got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Hawkesbury also got points from Ouellette, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Jason Brochu, who also had one goal and one assist, and Liam Alcalde, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Hawkesbury also got a goal from Domenic Camastra as well. Other players who recorded assists for Hawkesbury were Jonathan Cyr, who had two and Michael Ethier, Marc-Antoine Bourbonnais, and Hunter Racine, who each chipped in one.

Hawkesbury was unable to stop Brockville from sending pucks towards the net, and the Braves eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

Brockville was helped by Liam Folkes, who finished with one goal. Folkes scored 1:12 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brockville. Robinson picked up the assist. Brockville additionally got points from Robinson, who also registered one goal and one assist and Tre Folkes, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Sean King also scored for Brockville. In addition, Brockville received assists from Owen Gill, Landon Gareau, Jack Billings, Michael Murray, Andrew Peski, and DAndre John, who contributed one each.

CJ Sharp made 29 saves for the Hawks on 33 shots. Hawkesbury incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Braves' Mitchell Datz stopped 24 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Brockville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
