Ottawa downs Cornwall in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Ottawa Senators' Sean Rappleyea scored 2:58 into overtime to beat the Cornwall Colts, 3-2 (OT).

Ottawa was led by Rappleyea, who had one goal.

In the losing effort, Cornwall was led by Peter Angelopoulos, who grabbed two goals. Angelopoulos scored the first of his two goals at 8:40 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Kevin Hope picked up the assist. Angelopoulos' next tally made the score 2-1 Cornwall with 6:28 left in the second period. A high sticking penalty on Thomas Crevier had put the Colts on the power play. Tristen Elie assisted on the tally.

Ottawa also had goals scored by Matthew Cruickshank and Johnathan Kovacevic, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Ottawa were Robert Michel, Shawn Lynch, Isaac Anderson, and Zach Car, who each chipped in one.

More assists for Cornwall came via Cal Hofford and Tanner Spink, who contributed one each.

Alexandre Savard-Belanger recorded 24 saves for the Senators. Ottawa incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities. Denny Dubblestyne made 26 saves for Cornwall on 29 shots. The Colts ended with no penalties and went 1-for-3 on the power play.
