Carleton Place rolls over Hawkesbury, 4-1

The Carleton Place Canadians had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the Hawkesbury Hawks.

Stephen Baylis was all over the ice for Carleton Place, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Baylis scored short handed 17:52 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Carleton Place. A tripping call on Bryce VanHorn put the Canadians on the penalty kill.

Hawkesbury was stymied by Carleton Place's netminder Guillaume Therien, who stopped 36 shots during the victory. Therien certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.84 entering the contest.

Carleton Place also got points from Jordan Larson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Carleton Place also had goals scored by Adam Lloyd and Andy Sturtz, who each put in one. In addition, Carleton Place received assists from Wesley Baker, Andrew Dodson, and Craig Pefley, who each chipped in one.

The Hawks could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Hawkesbury puts an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game. The Hawks forced the Canadians goalie Therien to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

Hawkesbury was led by Domenic Camastra, who scored the team's only goal. Camastra scored on the power play 17:18 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Carleton Place. The Hawks had taken the advantage when Carleton Place's VanHorn got sent off for high sticking. Jonathan Cyr provided the assist.

The Canadians incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. CJ Sharp rejected 23 shots on goal for Hawkesbury. The Hawks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
