Brockville rips Nepean, 4-1

The Nepean Raiders had trouble finding ways to stop the Brockville Braves, which beat Raiders, 4-1.

Brockville was led by Sean King, who racked up one goal. King scored 15:27 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Brockville. Francesco Tolfa assisted on the tally.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 8:10 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

The Braves kept Nepean's goalie busy throughout the game, and Francis Marotte made 30 saves on 34 shots.

Others who scored for Brockville included Owen Gill, Neil Robinson, and Liam Folkes, who scored one goal each. More assists for Brockville came via Landon Gareau, Jack Billings, and Steven Windt, who each chipped in one and Eric Israel and Brett Van Stralen, who contributed two each.

The Raiders could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 19 minutes in penalties during the game.

Nepean was led by William White, who scored the team's only goal. White scored on the power play 5:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Nepean. The Raiders had gotten the advantage when Brockville's DAndre John was sent off for hooking. Chad Malinowski provided the assist.

Mitchell Datz rejected 23 shots on goal for the Braves. Brockville totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play. For the Braves, King was ejected from the game. Nepean registered one goal on four power play opportunities. The Raiders ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jody Sullivan was ejected from the game.
