Kanata downs Brockville in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Kanata Stallions' Brett Van Stralen scored 12:12 into overtime to beat the Brockville Braves, 4-3 (OT).

Kanata came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Stallions trailed 4-2 after a goal by Brockville's Michael Murray at 7:48 in the third period. Kanata knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Joey Laird at 6:01 in the fourth period.

The Stallions were sparked by Laird, who racked up one goal.

Kanata forced the Braves goalie Bo Taylor to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Others who scored for Kanata included Ian Johnston, Antoine Paradis, and Arik Breton, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Kanata were Hugo Petit, who had two and Jean-Philippe Langlois, Tyler ONeill, Brock Stashick, and Carter Malette, who each chipped in one.

Brockville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances.

Brockville also got a goal from Dylan McCrory as well. In addition, Brockville received assists from Ethan Weiss, who had one and Neil Robinson, who had two.

The Stallions' Brian Wilson stopped 21 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Kanata incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Bo Taylor made 30 saves for the Braves on 34 shots. Brockville incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
