A stellar performance between the pipes by Gunner Rivers helped the Hawkesbury Hawks defeat the Nepean Raiders, 3-1. Hawkesbury was sparked by Rory Gagnon, who tallied one goal. Gagnon scored 8:18 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Hawkesbury. Hunter Racine assisted on the tally. The Hawks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Hawkesbury's offense rang up 35 shots on Nepean's net. Hawkesbury also had goals scored by Jason Brochu and CJ Stubbs, who each put in one. More assists for Hawkesbury came via Ross Mandigo, Phil Johansson, and Liam Alcalde, who each chipped in one. The Raiders' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Hawkesbury power plays. Nepean was held below its usual level of production. The Raiders put an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game. Nepean kept the Hawks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Rivers made 31 saves on 32 shots. The Raiders were led by William White, who scored the team's only goal. White scored 6:22 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Kris Johnson provided the assist. Hawkesbury incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Francis Marotte made 32 saves for Nepean on 34 shots. The Raiders incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
