Pembroke blows out Cumberland, 7-0Pembroke Memorial Center Fri, Nov 07, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Cumberland Grads had trouble finding ways to stop the Pembroke Lumber Kings, which beat Grads, 7-0. Pembroke got the win on the strength of a great game by Adam Dauda, who had two goals and one assist. Dauda scored the first of his two goals at 12:25 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Pembroke. Colton Keuhl assisted on the tally. Dauda's next tally made the score 4-0 Pembroke with 3:37 left in the second period. Dylan Chase picked up the assist. The Lumber Kings pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 22 penalty minutes. Pembroke put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Cumberland to score on any of its six power plays. The Lumber Kings' defense was surprisingly good. Pembroke gives up 3.0 goals on average per game. The Lumber Kings forced the Grads goalie Paul Leger to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Pembroke surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Lumber Kings have scored at the pace of 4.0 goals per game during the current campaign. Pembroke additionally got points from Mitchell Mueller, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Jesse Blais, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Stephen Cooney, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Felix Chamberland also scored for Pembroke. Other players who recorded assists for Pembroke were Ryan Casselman, who had two and Anthony Nellis and Stephan Beauvais, who contributed one each. Cumberland excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Grads did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Cumberland puts an average of 2.3 pucks into the net per game. Joel Horodziejczyk rejected 23 shots on goal for Pembroke. Leger recorded 33 saves for the Grads. Cumberland incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
