Hawkesbury beats Gloucester 4-2 after comeback scare

The Gloucester Rangers tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Hawkesbury Hawks held on for a 4-2 victory.

Hawkesbury took a 4-1 lead during the third period, only to have Gloucester storm back on a Joey Fallon goal 19:01 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

The Hawks were helped by Hunter Racine, who registered one goal. Racine scored 1:28 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hawkesbury. Liam Alcalde picked up the assist. Hawkesbury additionally got points from Jonathan Cyr, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Hawkesbury included Ross Mandigo and CJ Stubbs, who scored one goal each. More assists for Hawkesbury came via Rory Gagnon, who had two and Jason Brochu, Tristan Perreault-Gagnon, and David Cyr, who contributed one each.

Gloucester also got points from Matt Foget, who also tallied one goal and one assist. In addition, Gloucester received assists from Tyler Greenberg, who had one and Ryan Kuffner, who had two.

CJ Sharp rejected 21 shots on goal for Hawkesbury. The Hawks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Doug Johnston made 25 saves for the Rangers on 29 shots. Gloucester incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
