The Kanata Stallions' Dylan Mascarin scored 2:04 into overtime to beat the Ottawa Senators, 5-4 (OT). Kanata came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Stallions trailed 4-2 after a power play goal by Ottawa's Carl Faucher at 14:55 in the third period. Kanata knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Arik Breton at 19:09 in the third period. Breton and Nic Marchand provided the spark for the Stallions, combining for three goals and two assists. Breton racked up two goals and Marchand also added one goal and two assists. Kanata bested its season scoring average. The Stallions average 2.1 goals per game. Kanata additionally got points from Marchand, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Ethan MacLean also scored for Kanata. In addition, Kanata received assists from Tyler ONeill, who had two and Rowan Savidant, Ian Johnston, Joey Laird, and Devin Fullum, who contributed one each. Kanata was unable to stop the Senators from sending pucks towards the net, and Ottawa eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. The Senators' defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. Ottawa gives up 2.4 goals per game. Others who scored for Ottawa included Shawn Lynch and Charles Corriveau, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Ottawa were Joey Champigny, who had two, Jim Pearson, who had three, and Robert Michel and Daniel Sarracco, who each chipped in one. Kevan Dumouchel rejected 28 shots on goal for the Stallions. Kanata incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Alexandre Savard-Belanger took the otl and made eight saves before being replaced by Ian Andriano who made four saves. The Senators incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
