Boivin leads Pembroke over Kemptville, 4-1

Behind a great game by Alexandre Boivin, who had one goal and two assists, the Pembroke Lumber Kings defeated the Kemptville 73s, 4-1.

Boivin scored on the power play 11:38 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Pembroke. Pembroke had taken the advantage when Kemptville's Rob Grant got sent off for too many men. Felix Chamberland assisted on the tally. Boivin dished an assist on Chamberland's goal that made the score 1-1 at 3:34 into the third period. He added another helper on Nolan Redler's goal that made the score 2-1 Pembroke at 5:22 into the third period.

The Lumber Kings forced the 73s goalie Jacob Tugnutt to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.

Pembroke also got points from Chamberland, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Pembroke also got a goal from Brett du Puy as well. More assists for Pembroke came via Owen McDade, who had two and Zachary Borsoi, Hudson Michaelis, and Anthony Nellis, who contributed one each.

Kemptville's offense operated below its season average. The 73s average 3.2 goals per game.

Kemptville was led by Jason Tackett, who scored the team's only goal. Tackett scored on the power play 14:40 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Kemptville. The 73s had gotten the advantage when Pembroke's Stephan Beauvais was sent off for tripping. Kaelan OFlynn picked up the assist.

Joel Horodziejczyk rejected 21 shots on goal for the Lumber Kings. Pembroke incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Kemptville's Tugnutt stopped 37 shots out of the 41 that he faced. The 73s incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
