Ottawa blows out Nepean, 4-1

The Ottawa Senators were firing on all cylinders against the Nepean Raiders, and when the final buzzer sounded Senators emerged with a 4-1 win.

Ottawa was led by goalie Alexandre Savard-Belanger, who finished with 28 saves while allowing one goal. Savard-Belanger certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.21 entering the contest.

The Senators were led by Cody Bean, who racked up one goal. Bean scored 17:56 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Ottawa. Sean Rappleyea picked up the assist.

Others who scored for Ottawa included Robert Michel, Joey Champigny, and Geoffrey Lawson, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Ottawa were Shawn Lynch, Isaac Anderson, Derek Varrin, Charles Corriveau, Johnathan Kovacevic, Carl Faucher, and Jim Pearson, who contributed one each.

Nepean was held below its usual level of production. The Raiders put an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game.

Nepean was led by Josh Zizek, who scored the team's only goal. Zizek scored 10:26 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Ottawa. Brandon Watt assisted on the tally.

Ottawa incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Raiders' Francis Marotte stopped 23 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Nepean incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
