Cornwall holds on for 4-3 win against NepeanEd Lumley Arena Thu, Oct 23, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Nepean Raiders tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Cornwall Colts held on for a 4-3 victory. Cornwall took a 3-1 lead during the second period, only to have Nepean storm back on a Broydon Stufko goal 3:27 into the third period to pull to one goal down. The Colts were sparked by Zac Tierney, who tallied one goal and one assist. Tierney scored 17:29 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Cornwall. Nick Lalonde picked up the assist. The Raiders were unable to stop Cornwall from sending pucks towards the net, and the Colts eventually piled up 38 shots on goal. Cornwall also got points from Grant Cooper, who also registered one goal and one assist and Peter Angelopoulos, who also had one goal and one assist. Cornwall also got a goal from Kevin Hope as well. More assists for Cornwall came via Ross Craig, Tristen Elie, and Lawson MacDougall, who contributed one each. Nepean's offense rang up 39 shots on Cornwall's net. Nepean additionally got points from Brandon Watt, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Other players who recorded assists for Nepean were Shane Riddell, who had one and Josh Zizek, who had two. Denny Dubblestyne made 36 saves for the Colts on 39 shots. Cornwall incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Francis Marotte rejected 34 shots on goal for the Raiders. Nepean incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. |
