Huge game by Kuffner boosts Gloucester over Cornwall, 8-5Earl Armstrong Arena Fri, Oct 10, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Ryan Kuffner had two goals and one assist to lead the Gloucester Rangers to an 8-5 victory over the Cornwall Colts. Kuffner's tallies came on the power play at 9:31 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Gloucester and on the power play 3:40 into the third to make the score 6-4 Gloucester.Cornwall was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as Gloucester was able to score four times while on the power play. The Rangers surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Gloucester averages 3.2 goals per game. Gloucester additionally got points from Colin Kruse, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Matt Foget, who also had two goals and one assist, and Joey Fallon, who also registered one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Gloucester included Lucas Zwaagstra and Matt Adams, who scored one goal each. More assists for Gloucester came via Logan Blaser, who had two, Zackhary Salloum, who had three, and Alex Bilodeau, Branden Makara, and David Richer, who contributed one each. The Colts kept the Rangers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Richer made 26 saves on 31 shots. Cornwall could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game. The Colts were helped by Kevin Hope, who racked up one goal. Hope scored on the power play 9:12 into the third period to make the score 7-5 Gloucester. A high sticking penalty on Antonio Micucci had put Cornwall on the power play. Zac Tierney assisted on the tally. Cornwall also got points from Tristan Conrad, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Jeremy McFarlane, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Cornwall also had goals scored by Keegan Mulhearn and Peter Angelopoulos, who each put in one. In addition, Cornwall received assists from Ross Craig, Jay DAmour, Juan-Diego Hernandez, Lawson MacDougall, and Jackson Parker, who each chipped in one.
