Gloucester beats Nepean 3-2 after comeback scare

The Nepean Raiders tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Gloucester Rangers held on for a 3-2 victory.

Gloucester made the score 3-1 on a goal by Ryan Kuffner at 32 seconds in the third period, and Nepean got as close as 3-2 when Brandon Watt scored 1:24 into the third period.

The Rangers were sparked by Kuffner, who tallied one goal and one assist.

Gloucester also got points from Joey Fallon, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Lucas Zwaagstra also scored for Gloucester. Other players who recorded assists for Gloucester were Matt Foget, who had two and Vincent Guimond and Matt Adams, who contributed one each.

Nepean also got a goal from Corey Tam as well. In addition, Nepean received assists from Cody Calcagno, Luke McCaw, and Shane Riddell, who each chipped in one.

Gloucester's David Richer stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Rangers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Leif Hertz rejected 25 shots on goal for the Raiders. Nepean incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
