Mandigo lifts Hawkesbury over Kanata, 5-2

Ross Mandigo was all over the ice for the Hawkesbury Hawks, as he tallied two goals in Hawkesbury's 5-2 win over the Kanata Stallions.

Mandigo's tallies came on the power play at 5:51 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hawkesbury and 8:57 into the second to make the score 3-1 Hawkesbury.

The Hawks forced Stallions' netminders to work all game long, firing 32 shots and forcing 27 saves. Brian Wilson made 27 stops and Kevan Dumouchel made zero.

Hawkesbury also got points from Jason Brochu, who also had two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Damien Charette also scored for Hawkesbury. More assists for Hawkesbury came via Tristan Perreault-Gagnon, Jonathan Cyr, Phil Johansson, Marc-Antoine Bourbonnais, and Liam Alcalde, who each chipped in one and Chris Harper and Hunter Racine, who contributed two each.

Kanata was led by Ethan MacLean, who tallied one goal. MacLean scored 14:27 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Ian Johnston picked up the assist. Kanata also got a goal from Nic Marchand as well. In addition, Kanata received assists from Devin Fullum, who had one.

Hawkesbury's Gunner Rivers stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. The Hawks incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Stallions incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
