Hawkesbury was stymied by Kemptville's netminder Jacob Tugnutt, who stopped 28 shots during the victory. The solid play of Tugnutt will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.52.

The 73s pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 25 penalty minutes.

Kemptville forced Hawks' goalies to work in net, firing 41 shots and forcing 34 saves. Daniel Potter made 33 stops and Gunner Rivers made one. The 73s excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. Kemptville outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the 73s average 3.8 goals per contest.

Kemptville was helped by Jake Gaudet, who tallied one goal and one assist. Gaudet scored 9:40 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Kemptville. Aaron Hickie provided the assist. Kemptville also got points from Cody Hendsbee, who also had one goal and one assist, Hickie, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Shawn Cameron, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Matt Tugnutt also scored for Kemptville. More assists for Kemptville came via Tyler Young, who had one and Owen Guy and Daniel Monk, who each chipped in two.
