The Hawkesbury Hawks had trouble finding ways to stop the Cornwall Colts, which beat Hawks, 5-1.

Cornwall was led by goalie Denny Dubblestyne, who finished with 30 saves while allowing one goal. Dubblestyne managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.3 prior to the game.

The Colts pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 18 penalty minutes.

Cornwall's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on nine Hawkesbury power plays.

The Colts were helped by Tristan Conrad, who finished with one goal. Conrad scored 2:46 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Cornwall. Dean Derouchie provided the assist. Cornwall also got points from Derouchie, who also tallied one goal and three assists. Cornwall also got a goal from Hugo Petit as well. More assists for Cornwall came via Ross Craig, Zac Tierney, Adam Lane, Jay DAmour, Jackson Parker, and Kevin Hope, who contributed one each.

Hawkesbury's offense operated below its season average. The Hawks average 3.5 goals per game. Hawkesbury's offense rang up 31 shots on Cornwall's net.

The Colts registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Daniel Potter rejected 22 shots on goal for the Hawks. Hawkesbury incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
