Cole Skinner stood on his head and made 32 saves to lead the Kanata Stallions to a 4-1 victory over the Cumberland Grads. Kanata was paced by Brock Stashick, who registered one goal. Stashick scored 18:21 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Kanata. Matthew Tozer provided the assist. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 8:18 into the first period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. The Stallions forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up nine minors and one major for 23 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 17.0 minutes per game Kanata had been spending in the box. The Stallions' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Kanata additionally got points from Nic Marchand, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Kanata also had goals scored by Johnny Kyte and James Thomson, who scored one goal each. In addition, Kanata received assists from Ian Johnston, Tyler ONeill, Louis-Charles Croteau, and Devin Fullum, who contributed one each. Cumberland's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled six minors and one major for 17 minutes in penalty time. The Grads surpassed its season average of 14.0 penalty minutes per game. Cumberland excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Kanata was unable to stop the Grads from sending pucks towards the net, and Cumberland eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. The Grads were led by Cameron Roth, who scored the team's only goal. Roth scored on the power play 7:32 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Kanata. Cumberland earned a power play opportunity when Jean-Philippe Langlois was put in the box for tripping. Reid Murphy picked up the assist. The Stallions ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Connor Cobbold was ejected from the game. Paul Leger made 17 saves for the Grads on 20 shots. Cumberland registered one goal on five power play opportunities. For the Grads, Brett Faber was ejected from the game.
