Carleton Place downs Pembroke in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

The Carleton Place Canadians pulled out a 2-1 (OT) overtime victory over the Pembroke Lumber Kings on a clutch goal by Adam Lloyd.

Lloyd had a great game for Carleton Place, netting two goals. Lloyd's tallies came at 3:13 into the third period to make the score 1-1 and 1:41 into the fourth to make the score 2-1 Carleton Place.

The Canadians were led by goalie Guillaume Therien, who finished with 34 saves while allowing one goal. Therien certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.12 entering the contest.

Carleton Place excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Canadians' offense rang up 34 shots on Pembroke's net.

In addition, Carleton Place received assists from Willy Brooks, Wesley Baker, Andrew Dodson, and Stephen Baylis, who each chipped in one.

The Lumber Kings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Carleton Place power plays. Pembroke's offense operated below its season average. The Lumber Kings put an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game. Pembroke's offense rang up 35 shots on Carleton Place's net.

The Lumber Kings were led by Anthony Nellis, who scored the team's only goal. Nellis scored 18:07 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Pembroke. Adam Dauda assisted on the tally.

The Canadians incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Joel Horodziejczyk recorded 32 saves for Pembroke. The Lumber Kings incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
