Zizek nets hat trick, leads Nepean to 6-4 win over Kemptville

A hat trick by Josh Zizek was the highlight in Raiders' 6-4 win against the Kemptville 73s.

Zizek got on the scoresheet 11:15 into the second period. He then added goals at 3:24 into the third and at 5:52 into the third.

Kemptville was unable to stop the Nepean Raiders from sending pucks towards the net, and Nepean eventually piled up 39 shots on goal. The Raiders bested their season scoring average. Nepean averages 3.6 goals per game. The Raiders' penalty kill unit could not stop the 73s' power play, which converted on two of three opportunities.

Nepean also got points from Corey Tam, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Diego Gagnon, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Nepean also got a goal from Adel Zivojevic as well. In addition, Nepean received assists from Broydon Stufko, who had three and Chad Malinowski, Brandon Watt, Dakota Ford, William White, Shane Riddell, and Tristan Perreault-Gagnon, who each chipped in one.

Kemptville forced Nepean goalie Will King to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

King rejected 32 shots on goal for the Raiders. Nepean totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. For the Raiders, Jody Sullivan was ejected from the game. Jacob Tugnutt made 33 saves for the 73s on 38 shots. Kemptville ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. The 73s ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Rob Grant was ejected from the game.
