Pembroke wins tough contest against Brockville, 4-2Bell Sensplex-Mattamy Homes Mon, Sep 01, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Pembroke Lumber Kings gutted out a close 4-2 win against the Brockville Braves. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Stephan Beauvais at 7:36 of the second period. Pembroke was sparked by Anthony Nellis, who had one goal. Nellis scored 8:06 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Pembroke. Felix Chamberland assisted on the tally. The Lumber Kings put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Brockville to score on any of its five power plays. Pembroke also had goals scored by Ryan Casselman and Jack Patterson, who scored one goal each. More assists for Pembroke came via Colton Keuhl, Dylan Chase, and Brett Horn, who each chipped in one and Nolan Redler and Adam Dauda, who contributed two each. The Braves' offense rang up 35 shots on Pembroke's net. Brockville was helped by Liam Folkes, who finished with one goal. Folkes scored 10:03 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Pembroke. Eric Israel provided the assist. Brockville also got a goal from Sean King as well. Other players who recorded assists for Brockville were Jack Billings, Blake Carrick, and Andrew Peski, who each chipped in one. Sean Green rejected 33 shots on goal for the Lumber Kings. Pembroke incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Braves' David Poirier stopped 19 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Brockville incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
